Barone is a chef-driven restaurant where the chef’s personality is present throughout the whole experience.
What stayed with me most was the way the food is introduced. It’s not just about dishes arriving at the table—the team takes time to explain each one, the ingredients, and the idea behind it. It feels almost like storytelling, helping you understand not only what you are eating, but also the thought behind each dish.
The food combines traditional flavours with a modern approach. Each dish feels carefully considered, and the seafood was especially memorable and very fresh and prepared with great attention. I chose the fish tasting menu, while my husband went for the meat option.
You can choose between tasting menus of 4 or 6 dishes, with options of fish or meat, depending on your preference.
The restaurant itself is minimal and intimate, with a modern style. I noticed small details that make the experience more comfortable, like the small hanger they provide for your bag so it stays with you at the table, and the design of the bathrooms.
It is definitely on the expensive side, and overall the experience was very good, but not everything was perfect. The last dish in the meat menu was unfortunately not really enjoyable, and the dessert was good but not particularly memorable. For this level and price, you expect everything to be at the same high standard.
