Real Gela is not a tourism brochure and it is not trying to be a definitive city guide.
It is a record of repeated visits. At first I found Gela difficult to read. Over time the city changed shape for me through meals, coastline walks, archaeological traces, events and the everyday places that stay open long enough to become familiar.
What matters here is not whether a place is perfect. It is whether I would honestly go back, whether I learned something by going, and whether the experience tells you something useful about Gela.
How I write these notes
- I keep the tone personal and independent.
- I leave room for disappointment when that is the honest answer.
- I only include practical details when I have them.
- I prefer a few useful observations to broad claims.
This project is designed to feel like a travel journal that happens to be public.
If a detail looks like a placeholder, that is because sample content is being used to prove the structure. Real entries should replace those notes with verified information before publication.
